Re-examination for 2,445 candidates affected by technical disruption at two Jaipur centres to be held on September 5, 2026

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) successfully conducted the NEET-PG 2026 examination nationwide today, August 30, 2026, with comprehensive logistical, technical, security and manpower arrangements to ensure a fair, secure and smooth examination process.

The examination was scheduled for 2,73,096 candidates across 1,111 examination centres in 339 cities covering all 36 States and Union Territories. A total of 2,65,980 candidates appeared for the examination, of whom approximately 2,63,535 candidates successfully completed the examination.

Extensive real-time monitoring and stringent security measures were implemented throughout the nationwide examination. A total of 2,527 faculty members were appointed as Independent Appraisers to oversee the conduct of the examination. In addition, more than 700 senior faculty members, including Deans, Directors, Medical Superintendents and senior professors, were deployed as members of Flying Squads.

To strengthen coordination and monitoring, 16 NBEMS Regional Command Centres were operationalised across the country.

The examination centres were also placed under live CCTV surveillance, with continuous monitoring from the NBEMS Command Centre at its Dwarka headquarters. A dedicated team of 190 personnel from NBEMS and TCS was deployed for real-time monitoring and oversight.

At the dedicated Command Centre at the NBEMS headquarters, officials from NBEMS, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, BEL, ECIL and TCS closely and continuously monitored the examination process throughout the day.

As part of measures to further strengthen examination security and prevent impersonation and malpractice, Aadhaar-based authentication of candidates was successfully carried out at the examination centres. Government agencies extended their full cooperation for the safe and orderly conduct of the examination.

The examination was successfully completed for the vast majority of candidates across the country. However, an unforeseen technical disruption occurred at the ION Digital Zone IDZ Sitapura centres in Jaipur, Rajasthan (TC Nos. 41682 and 41683). Due to issues related to the internal power supply at the centres, attributed to the examination conducting agency, M/s TCS Limited, the examination could not be completed for 2,445 candidates.

NBEMS deeply regrets the inconvenience caused to the affected candidates. Immediate steps have been taken to ensure that they are provided a fair and appropriate opportunity to appear for NEET-PG 2026.

Accordingly, the re-examination of all affected candidates will be conducted on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at 3:00 PM in Jaipur, Rajasthan. Details regarding the examination venue and other relevant instructions will be communicated separately to the concerned candidates.

The successful conduct of the examination across 1,111 centres in 339 cities reflects extensive coordination among examination officials, medical institutions, faculty members, security agencies, technology teams and other stakeholders involved in the nationwide exercise.

NBEMS appreciates the cooperation, patience and trust of the candidates and acknowledges the dedicated efforts of all personnel and institutions involved in the conduct of NEET-PG 2026.
